Rocky MTN Tenkara Hat

I purchased the Compa rod along with some flies and a hat, and overall I’ve been extremely happy with everything.

The hat is great quality and has an awesome shape and fit. The flies have worked well, and the Compa rod has been an absolute blast to fish with. I’ve caught a ton of panfish on it and have also spent some time creek fishing, where I’ve landed several small rainbow trout. The rod loads up beautifully, casts great, and is just a lot of fun to fish. Tenkara has quickly become my new favorite style of fishing because of how simple and enjoyable it is.

The only downside I’ve experienced so far is that I accidentally broke the first section of the rod while fumbling with a fish. I took a bad step and ended up snapping the first piece that extends out of the rod. This was completely my fault and not a defect with the rod. I’ve sent an email about getting a replacement section and may need to follow up with a phone call. Hopefully replacement parts are available because I’d love to get it back on the water as soon as possible.

Overall, the rod, flies, hat, and everything else I’ve received have been awesome. I’m looking forward to getting that section replaced and putting many more fish on the line. I’d definitely recommend Rocky Mountain Tenkara to anyone interested in giving tenkara fishing a try.

I've had this hat for months. It's comfortable, durable, and has worn well. Versatile! Looks good enough to wear out, but it's all business out on the water.

My girlfriend hardly ever wears hats. She has never been able to find one that she could wear, for long periods of time, that didn’t hurt her head. One day, when we were driving with the windows down, she borrowed my hat to keep the hair out of her face. She loved the hat so much and said it was so comfortable, it’s the most comfortable hat she’s ever worn, that I had to buy her one just to get mine back.
